The Finnish Evaluation Society SAYFES organised an online method workshop on 5 June 2024. The lecturer of the workshop was Dr. Zhou Xingguo, a visiting researcher from the University of Turku, Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS). Dr Zhou has been focusing her research on the impacts of external evaluations in both Finland and China.
In the workshop, she introduced her research topic, sharing introduction on Chinese evaluation systems compared to Finnish evaluation approach in education. The presentation stimulated the discussion among workshop audience on methodological choices and contextual factors that influence these choices in China and in Finland. The audience also shared insights and best practices from evaluation institutions.
